Myanmar (Burma) Photography Tour 2018: Yangon – Mrauk-U- Inle Lake- Loikaw

Myanmar (also called Burma) is a fascinating country  slowly opening to tourism since 2015 after being isolated  from the rest of the word for almost 50 years. Larger than France and  sharing borders with Thailand, Bangladesh and China, Myanmar has   a wide  variety of landscapes: plains, hills and high mountains above 5000 meters on the footsteps of the Himalaya chain as well as 2000 kilometers of coastline stretching along the Andaman sea.

Even though Yangon is no longer the capital of the country since 2005, it remains its the largest and more commercial city. It has also the most beautiful colonial buildings in South East Asia:  to learn more about the colonial architecture in Yangon please have a look at our blog post here.

People in Myanmar are very friendly, very open to be photographed and still deeply rooted with traditions. That is why Myanmar is a on bucket list of many photographers. Infrastructure  is globally quite poor and  distributed very unevenly within the country so the quickest way to travel  is by using one of the four national air carrier or by private car.

Bagan and Inle Lake are now  the touristic hotspots, but  you will feel like an explorer: the temples of Bagan have received ten time less visitors than the temple of Angkor in Cambodia while the temples of Mrauk-U had only 4000 visitors.

This  12-day Myanmar photography tour itinerary  has been carefully researched for several weeks  during two photography trips in 2015 and 2017 and will guarantee you to have the best photographic experience. Our itinerary is quite different from the well known Myanmar tour Yangon-Mandalay-Bagan-Inle Lake. We will during this trip use the expertise of our partner, Khiri Travel, based in Myanmar for many years.

As this journey is limited to 4 persons only, it  is possible to accommodate to some extent some change on the itinerary.

Capture the colorful and bustling streets of Yangon.
Visit the 2600 years old Shwedagon pagoda.
