Beyond the temples of Angkor, explore the countryside of Siem Reap
Often overlooked by visitors, the vicinity of Siem Reap offers endless opportunities for photographers to capture ever-changing landscapes and the essence of daily village life.
This tour takes you along countryside roads to explore peaceful, colorful pagodas and hidden backroads where we will meet the local community. We will conclude the day by capturing the sunset far from the crowds before returning to town.
The photography coaching is fully adapted to your specific needs and interests, with a focus on technical settings and composition. This tour is particularly suited for beginners, helping you gain a much better understanding of the exposure triangle.
Tour Details
🏨 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM — Pickup from your hotel
🏛️ Afternoon — Visit of several pagodas. Portrait photography in an authentic village near Siem Reap.
🌅 Sunset — Scenic landscape photography in the paddy fields
🏨 ~6:30 PM — Return to hotel

Thoroughly enjoyed this afternoon - sunset tour of countryside with Laurent. My daughter is studying photography and Laurent gave us both some great photography tips we will use forever. We elected to go in a tuk-tuk which was great to be able to chat along the way about the sights. Laurent has a lovely gentle manner and a pleasure to be around. He took us into a school and villages where we could interact freely with the gorgeous children without being too intrusive. We have some brilliant shots from the tour that we will cherish forever. Thoroughly recommend this tour.
We had a great time exploring the countryside with Laurent. The entire process was smooth and enjoyable. He picked us up at our hotel, then we got a tuk-tuk and ventured out of the city. We explored a massive lotus flower farm, hung out with kids in local villages, chatted with monks at a monastery and enjoyed a stunning sunset over rice paddies. I felt like I got a sweet glimpse of Cambodia life that I wouldn't have if I only stayed on the tourist circuit. Laurent is very knowledgeable about photography and knows the best places to go for authentic moments. He's patient with guidance and is keen to help when needed. I definitely recommend getting out of "temple land" to see the real side of Cambodia with Laurent!
I spent an afternoon with Laurent on the sunset tour. Together with his driver, he brought me to several locations around Siem Reap and helped me with the settings of my camera as well as with the composition of my photos. The results were much better than when I took photos alone. The end of the tour was a sunset at a nearby lake and a village. I strongly recommend his tour. That was money well spent.
