Myanmar (also called Burma) is a fascinating country slowly opening to tourism since 2015 after being isolated from the word for almost 50 years. It is a country larger than France sharing borders with Thailand, Bangladesh and China and with a wide variety of landscape: plains, hills and high mountains above 5000 meters on the footsteps of the Himalaya chain. 2000 kilometers of coastline are stretching along the Andaman sea.
Because of all that, and also because it is a country still deeply rooted with traditions, Myanmar is a on bucket list of many photographers. Burmese people are very friendly and very open to be photographed even in the most remote villages. Infrastructure are globally quite poor and distributed very unevenly within the country. The quickest and safest way to travel is by air using one of the four national carrier or by private car.
Although Myanmar is open to tourism, the north of the country is still not accessible to this day. Besides the temples of Bagan and Inle Lake which are the tourist hotspots you will be will surprised to be among the few photographers exploring the streets of Yangon and the temples of Mrauk-U.

This 12-day Myanmar photography tour itinerary has been researched for several weeks during three photography trips in 2015, 2017, 2018. From the streets of Yangon with its colonial architecture and bustling markets to the beautiful and scenic Inle Lake, the ethnic tribes of Loilaw (long-neck), the underrated temples of Mrauk-U (also called the little Bagan), this photography expedition will provide you with many opportunities for portrait,landscape and street photography.
As this journey limited to 4 persons only, it possible to accommodate to some extent requests you might have about its content depending on your photo interests (architecture, landscape, street photography, etc…).
