  ANGKOR WAT OPENING HOURS 2025: 5 am to 6 pm

Since September 2024, new opening hours for Angkor Wat temple have been implemented. Other temples such as Ta Prohm and Bayon opening hours have been  adjusted with sunrise and sunset times: for now it is 6 am to 6.30 pm (these hours will be slightly adjusted during the high season to match sunrise and sunset times).

 ANGKOR WAT TICKET PRICES 2025

The pricing for the three ticket categories is listed below. Please note that the ticket promotion that was offered in 2022 has now ended.

  • USD 37 for a 1-day pass (you can go multiple times during the same day)
  • USD 62 for the 3-day pass (valid for 3 entries during a period of 10 days)
  • USD 72 for the 7-day pass (valid for 7 entries during a period of 30 days)

Please note that there are no discounts available for groups. However, for children under the age of 12, the entrance is free. It’s important to show their passport at the ticket counter and carry it with them while visiting the temples. Please be aware that no separate tickets will be issued for children.

  1. Register an account with your e-mail at https://ticket.angkorenterprise.gov.kh/
  2.  Click on the confirmation e-mail to complete  your profile
  3. You can choose to buy your Angkor pass (Angkor Word Heritage) or an entrance ticket for Koh Ker temple complex (USD 15)
  4. If you purchase the Angkor pass, you need to upload an ID picture.
  5. After clearing the payment step, you can download a pdf file that you present to the controllers from your smartphone.

 ANGKOR WAT TICKET PAYMENT

You can pay cash in US dollars or by credit card, whichever is more convenient for your Angkor Wat ticket. Since September 2017, the main credit cards accepted are: Visa, Mastercard, Union Pay, JCB, Discover and Diners Club International. There are also options for tourists from China to pay using WeChat Pay and Alipay mobile payment platforms.

The most convenient way to purchase your Angkor ticket is online (refer to the information above). There is only one physical location where the tickets are sold. You can find the exact location below (click to enlarge). Alternatively, you can search for “Angkor Park Pass Ticket Counters” on Google Maps. Angkor Wat ticket office is  a 4 Km ride from siem reap city center. Either ask your hotel or use the PassApp Taxi app or Grab remorque to get there without the hassle of negotiating the price.

Note: in April 2016, the ticket counters have been relocated from Charles de Gaulle to their present location nearby the  panorama museum.

 

 FREE ANGKOR PASS | ANGKOR SPECIAL PASS FOR EXPATS

Since September 2022, foreigners  who can justify 2 years of visa in Cambodia can apply for a free Angkor pass (also called Angkor Special pass) valid for one year. The program is still valid for 2023-2024. As of December 2023, more than 15 000 Angkor passes  have been delivered.
You can order your free Angkor pass  online from Angkor Enterprise’s website. These are few steps to follow to get your electronic Angkor special pass.

 

  1. Prepare the following scanned documents: passport, previous visas covering the last two years in Cambodia, ID picture.
  2. Register an account with your e-mail at https://spass.angkorenterprise.gov.kh/
  3.  Click on the confirmation e-mail to complete  your profile
  4. Fill out your full name, passport number, date of birth, gender, country. Upload your passport, visas on jpeg or pdf format

Once you have completed the process, your application will be under review. Expired Angkor Pass can be renewed, allowing you to get a free  new pass and continue visiting the Angkor archaeological park after your initial pass’s validity ends.

 

 

You can also go directly to the ticket office with your passport and a picture ID. It is usually processed in 2 or 3 days, sometime faster.

Angkor Special pass for long time residents

If you do not have 2 years of visa, there is another option below to get an annual pass.

Since 2022, long-term residents with a valid working visa in Cambodia (minimum of 6 months) are eligible for an unlimited entry pass. This offer is still valid in 2023.

  • USD 200 for 6  months
  • USD 150 for 3 months
  • USD 100 for 1 month

Why do I need an Angkor Pass?

An Angkor Pass is required for entry into the Angkor Archeological Park, even if you are just cycling through and not planning to visit specific temples. While it was once possible to visit some remote temples without a pass, this is no longer the case. You’ll find agents checking passes at main checkpoints and even at less-frequented temples.

Please Note:
* Separate tickets are required for Koh Ker, Preah Vihear, Preah Khan of Kampong Svay, Banteay Chhmar temples, and Phnom Kulen mountain. Your Angkor Pass is not valid for these locations.
* For Beng Mealea temple, you can use your Angkor Pass or purchase a separate ticket for USD 10.

How long is my Angkor Pass valid?

* The 3-day pass is valid for 10 days and can be used on 5 non-consecutive days.
* The 7-day pass is valid for a month and can be used on 10 non-consecutive days.
A hole will be punched in your ticket at checkpoints each time you enter the park.

How long does it take to buy a ticket?

Buying a ticket typically takes between 5 to 25 minutes, depending on the time of day. The busiest period is generally before 5 AM. There are 48 ticket counters, with most selling 1-day and 3-day passes, and only one dedicated to the 7-day pass.

Can I buy Angkor Pass tickets online?

Yes, Angkor Enterprise launched an e-ticketing platform in 2022 where you can upload your ID picture to purchase tickets.

Do I need my passport to buy Angkor Pass tickets?

No, you do not need to present your passport to buy an Angkor Pass for yourself. However, if you are claiming free entry for children under 12 years old, you will need to present their passports.

Can I buy an Angkor Pass for someone else?

No, it is not possible. You must be physically present at the counter as an ID picture will be taken with a webcam.

What are the Angkor Pass ticket office opening hours?

The main ticket office is open daily from 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM. It is sometimes possible to purchase tickets slightly before 5:00 AM.

What happens if I lose my ticket?

Unfortunately, if you lose your ticket, you will need to return to the ticket counters and purchase a new one.

Can I give my ticket to a friend?

No. The Angkor Pass is not transferable, and staff carefully check the picture on the ticket.

Where can I see ticket sale statistics?

The number of tickets sold are displayed on LCD screens above the ticket counters. You can also consult these statistics on the Angkor Enterprise website. For reference:
* Pre-COVID (2019): Approximately 7,000 tickets sold daily.
* February 2022: Averaged about 250 ticket sales a day.
* Low season 2025: Approximately 1,000 tickets sold per day.

Is Angkor Wat open?

Typically, Angkor Wat temple maintains daily operating hours, including public holidays. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the temples of Angkor experienced temporary closures in April 2021 and again from July 30th to August 19th, 2021.
